APO Metro Houston - On its 6th year as Texas Beach Guardian.

Last April 30, 2011, on their 6th year as Texas Beach Guardians, members of Alpha Phi Omega (Phils) of Metropolitan Houston led by their President, Bro. Jun Tapay, cleaned-up their adopted one mile beach (Mile Zero) along the area of San Luis Pass in Surfside Beach, Brazoria County, Texas. According to James Glover, special events officer of Brazoria County Parks Department, a total of 7,400 pounds of trash were removed from the area between San Luis Pass to Surfside Jetty. The next beach clean-up will be on Sept. 24, 2011.
