I would like to thank brod Ben Castro, ARNA RD and ACNA President, for facilitating the successful meeting last night. Also would like to thank sis Au Castro for accommodating us in her store, Goldilocks. Special appreciation to my ka chap Denny Trafalgar and my fellow GLAian Bong Estrada for being my bodyguards and chauffeurs. :) Thank you too to all who attended the meeting, some had to drive more than 2 hours (one way) just to attend. Thank you also to brod Andy Cordero (NORCAL Prexy) and wife for opening up their home for a fellowship afterwards.

First APOAABC Golf Tournament

The first annual Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association of British Columbia golf tournament kicked off with a resounding success at Sunshine Woods Golf Centre in Delta, BC on September 12, 2009. Avid golfers from the Lower Mainland, in their show of support for a worthy cause, participated in this initial fundraising golf competition sponsored by APOAABC here in BC.

7th ACNA International Humanitarian Medical, Dental and Optical Mission

Hello everyone,

This is just an initial report while we are waiting for the arrival of Bro. Ben J. Castro, who headed ACNA`s delegation to the 7th ACNA International Humanitarian Medical, Dental and Optical Mission in Barangay 105, Tondo, Manila. Bro. Gene Licauco and myself shall make the final official report. We shall also incorporate the inputs of Bro. Ben Castro.

We beat U.S. President-elect Barack Obama’s Washington DC event by three days, but in the same spirit do we celebrate this auspicious chance for all of us to become partners in progress, Brod Benigno “Ben” J. Castro’s APO-ACNA theme for his 2009-10 term as president-CEO.

Tonight, we celebrate a new chapter in the history of APO ACNA. I am grateful for the opportunity to be at your service. As your President-Elect for 2009-2010, I promise to uphold the principles of Leadership, Friendship and Service, upon which our organization is established. As we embark on a new journey, I enjoin you to be partners in propagating peace and prosperity in our spheres of influence. I ask you to extend once again your usual and invaluable support and cooperation to me and to the new Executive Officers and Board of Directors.

I hope that this message finds you in peace and financial stability during these times.As I turn over the torch of leadership to Brother Ben Castro, I am proud to say that ACNA has advanced forward during my term and I am happy to turn over an organization with plenty of vitality and promise. ACNA has grown by leaps and bounds and it continues to be a force for leadership and service in APO. To be sure, the incoming leadership will be faced with challenges that will be unique to it while responding to ongoing challenges that have faced past administrations.
